Literature Abounds at the Literature Network

For students, teachers, and literature enthusiasts of all kinds, there is no better home on the Internet than The Literature Network. This website, created by Jalic Inc., is one of the most extensive and thorough text archives available to the public on the Internet.

The Literature Network was first created in 1999, and was later restructured and launched again in 2000. The site’s database contains more than 1900 entire books, more than 3,000 poems and short stories, and more than 8,000 famous quotations. The extensive types of literature contains works by authors from Henry Adams to Emile Zola. Each author’s page offers site visitors a biography as well as a searchable collection of literary works. Many of the author pages also contain extra content such as quizzes, polls, and user comment areas.

The Holy Bible searchable database on The Literature Network provides visitors with a searchable database of more than 8.000 phrases, passages, and proverbs from the King James version of the Bible. Each passage is traced to its source in ancient and modern literature.

Approximately six million people visit the site each month. Forums and blogs on the site allow visitors and members alike to explore the world of literature and discuss specific works in detail. The Literature Network Forums have more than 10,000 members, and hundreds more join every month. In addition, the site has sponsored two additional sites. The Poetry Post website is an online community where amateur poets can post their work. The second site, William Shakespeare’s Sonnet-a-Day, sends regular e-mail newsletters to more than 120,000 subscribers.

From Aristotle, to Karl Marx to Hans Christian Andersen, there is only one place online where you can find any piece of literature you’re looking for. Visit www.online-literature.com for all of your literature pursuits.
